My qualities
My Aim
My aim is to help students with average academic backgrounds to make them realize their full potential and achieve great success in their career and create a Positive Impact through my inspirational journey, motivation, dedication, and commitment.
Family Disaster
My parents got separated 24 years ago and that time my mother brought me to Nanihal (Town Chimur which comes in Chandrapur district) when I was just 9 years old schooling at 4th standard (running). Beginning of couple of weeks I was enjoying school skipping because my admission was not done in any school in Chimur. However, my mother somehow managed to get permission from the principal for me to sit in school without admission as my admission was with native Zila parishad school of Mahadwadi.
My life’s first earning started when I was just 9 years old
During summer holidays, while playing with mohalla’s kids I started working for Agarbatti vendor without mother’s knowledge, filling of agarbatti’s in packets. I earned Rs. 5 for the week. The moment I gave it to my mother, her eyes were filled with tears and said, “mera beta kahi se bhi lat marke pani nikal sakta hai”.
- Filling of agarbatti’s,
- Grocery shop boy,
- Carpenter work,
- Cotton matters making,
- DJ playing,
- Painting and hard-core bicycle mechanic (expert).
In those 7 years, my earning was extremely less but learnings, knowledge gained was extremely rich and precious which everyone couldn’t get.
Key Lessons;
- I learned to fight with adverse conditions.
- I gained social beliefs and trust.
- I gained self-confidence.
- Opportunities knocks you, you just have to keep yourself ready with eyes open.
My grandparents were old and financially weak, my mother used to do farm working on daily wages to feed us. Later, she worked as a homemade for a year or two. Then she got job in newly opened St. claret school as piun. Today also, she is doing her job not for the money but for her happiness and good health. I don’t feel any kind of indignity because CA’s mother is doing piun work, rather I feel proud as she does the Job out of love.
Out of this whole experience I had realized one thing that is…
Achieving success through education is the most simplest thing in the world for a person like me who is going through such a tough time.
As per my opinion “students who get sufficient time for studies and food to life are very fortunate and privileged” I urge them to make such moment fruitful.
With this belief, I worked on myself to make optimum use of available time.
Turning point of life
Post completion of 12th commerce, I had no money to continue desired studies further. Therefore, I started arranging funds to take admission next year in BBA from GS College of commerce and economics, Nagpur. Frankly speaking, I couldn’t save single penny like normal guy. However, I took financial assistance from my friend’s (Akshay) mother, “I called her mom” for doing at least 1st year admission. I promised her to make fruitful of her money.
Finally, it was time to leave my mother alone who was crying like hell. This was the heartfelt moment for both of us.
My admission’s problem got resolved but cost of living and food remained pending. We were 3 friends who came together in Nagpur and took the admission in same class. So, my other friend Rahul’s father took charge of 1st year’s Hostel admission and hence solved. But still, arrangement of food cost was another question before me. I was very much clear from the day 1, that I’ll join any part time work in Nagpur as soon as possible.
Therefore, me and my other hostel mates started searching job for me with full excitement but even after a month we failed to get any offer.
After a month, I had to pay subsequent month’s food charges(mess), so I spoke to one of my known bicycle dealers because previously I was doing market for shop where I used to work. He agreed on my request and ask to join on wages basis, Rs. 70 per day.
I used to go work after my college, skipping lunch because I could afford only one time food and I don’t want to spread hands before anyone at that time. In that way, one more month was managed but my health started deteriorating. Later in 2 months, I am falling ill as body couldn’t sustain me.
All of this was being noticed by mess provider, “uncle”, finally he extended his support to feed me twice a day without compelling me to pay. Uncle said you focus on your study and goal, “I will look after your food”. That’s how my 1st year was completed with 63% marks.
Life’s throwing challenges one after the other
Further completion of my graduation, it was time to do 2nd year admission and again need of money arose. During summer holidays I went to maternal aunty’s (Mavashi) home to learn Driving of four-wheeler cause one thing I was told and witnessed that Drivers earning was pretty good around Rs. 8000-10000 per month that’s why I already started learning driving of four-wheeler. So, on my request, aunty gave me Rs 5000 as hand loan. Yet around 5000 of short for admission was met by one of my friend Bunty Wankar from MLA’s office.
Now onwards, I planned to stay in PG as don’t wanted restrictions for coming back from Job. But another challenge was to arrange funds for PG rent which I couldn’t manage to arrange and all of my sources were used. It was very stressful time since; college classes were started but I didn’t joined yet.
That was time of testing destiny, I was about to take decision whether to continue further studies or not. I was completely numbed about this decision.
BUT WHEN YOU ASK ANY QUESTION TO LIFE, IT IS LIFE’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION IF YOU REALLY DESERVED TO BE.
So, my friend Sonu dube met me near chimur bus stop, who was with me in 11th & 12th class but I don’t know what impression was created on him. He was very depressed and just recovered from suicide attempt. He had gave up everything and said, “ Praful kaisa hai? Kya chal raha? Mai to ho gaya barbad, maine suicide kiya tha par bach gaya, Mere pas thode bot kuch paise bache, dekhle agar tere kuch kam aa sakte honge to use karle, tu to bhi kuch na kuch accha kar le”. That’s how tiny need met during crucial days.
Next challenge was to find job to earn some money for the regular maintenance. After struggling for about a month. My Jiju talked to his cousin brother who owned a coal company to give me some work. He put me on the job because I knew driving. He asked me salary, how much you want? I replied, “Mai study karne ke liye yaha aya hu, so mera monthly mess and room ka kharcha nikal jaye”. So I worked there for 2 years with a monthly salary of Rs. 3500. I went through many ups and down, like health issues, low percentage in 2nd year. In the meantime, I enquired on Chartered Accountancy (CA) and got to know that BBA graduates can take admission into CA profession at intermediate level subject to securing of 60% aggregate. So, I set my goal to become an CA because I had already secured 60% in aggregate of 1st and 2nd year. Therefore, my next target was set to achieve minimum 60% in final year. Therefore, my final year was as good as clearing CA-CPT (entrance exam for CA) and hence, level of seriousness has intensified. Through self-commitment and pushing my limits, I managed to achieve a 65% score in my final year.
That’s how I completed my graduation with 61% in aggregate and it was proud moment for me, as it signified my eligibility to embark on the journey towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.
All the success I’ve attained so far wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of my friend (Damini), who is now my wife, standing loyal despite facing numerous challenges.
Jugaad – my CA journey
My dream was to become CA, but Damini wanted me to do MBA finance cause she had done lots of research about CA study, passing percentages and life of students who couldn’t be succeed. After lots of disagreements between us and thoughtful discussion, I concluded to pursue both CA and MBA simultaneously, yet another challenge had to accept because CA students do not get education loan, but MBA course can be funded by education loan.
Since I became graduate, backed with possession of practical experience working with coal company where I used to work as driver-cum-office executive and learned how system works.
I set challenge to myself, it’s time test my abilities and skill by financing through Bank to be called as Finance Professional. With this conviction, I spoke to one college for my admission to be funded by education loan subject to refund of fees to my account after deducting some procession charges, because I knew MBA colleges were going through tough times for getting admission and avoidance of cancellation of permissions by universities. I had to struggle a bit and wait for little longer period to recover from college but the ultimate aim was very clear in mind to get the money back in account and manage the tuition expenses required for CA IPCC.
After completion of 3 years of mandatory articleship from CA firm, I decided to join corporate job and started finding a job through naukari.com, local consultancy firms and through friends’ references. Certainly, I was confident enough about getting bob easily because I was possession of one-year practical experience from corporate as I went through industrial training in manufacturing company, Nagpur.
But the reality of getting job is yet another challenge which was not experienced, and life gave me chance to see and face that as well. I got a job offer through one of my friend’s references, the ginning company located in Yawatmal district. I had no other option but accept to it and planned to leave Nagpur but with self-determination to continue pursuing CA.
I moved to Job location after leaving everything behind and work for 2 days, my stay was arranged with beloved friend’s home. I was about settle by arrangement of separate rented room for myself. I went to office 3rd and boos called me up and said very politely, “Mai 3-4 dino ke liye bahar ja raha hu, tum office me baki logo ke sath uncomfortable rahoge, to tum ek kam karo, mai aane ke bad call karta hu, to office join kar lena”. I realized that time only, I’m professional and not a kid, why he is saying like this?
But with the being said, “the life is dependent on hopes only” and “I said myself, not to think negatively, wait for 3-4 days and his call”. When no call received, I tried calling after him with some hopes, but he didn’t answer any call. After a week’s time, I came back to Nagpur in the same PG where I used to live and food. That was the time, my mess provider uncle was also teasing and making fun of me.
After a few weeks I got call from the company, I always wanted to be a part of it and which is located in IT park, Nagpur.
That was the biggest learning and experience, “Jo kuch hota hai, acche ke liye hota hai” just accept the situation, have patience, and keep on moving ahead.
So, I began corporate career from February 2017 as a Sr. Accountant, with full enthusiastic but yet neutrally to take the new challenges every day, worked tirelessly and learnt maximum things as much possible within shorter period of time. Everything got started becoming smoother with some ups-down and hindrances but till that time I was strong enough to sustain them and I could manage to eat good food, health, lifestyle, bought a house though bank loan, completed Government Diploma in Cooperation and Accountancy GDC&A and reached to CA final level.
COVID-19: Boons and Banes
Boons: I joined new company in February 2020, just before the onset of Covid in India. PM Narendra Modi Ji announced a nationwide lockdown in March 2020, prompting the company to implement work-from-home policy. During that period, company initiated a process of identifying resources to curtail down, finger raised on me too, but my boss advocated for me citing my responsibilities in managing MIS, audits, and statutory compliances. Given the recent acquisition from the TATA group, lots of work was pending and scattered prior to my arrival, undergoing audits by big4’s firms remotely, top management sought multi-dimensional reports to assess the company’s overall position, making my role crucial in consolidating and analyzing the necessary information.
1st February 2021 result day, the day of my life which marked a pivotal moment in my life. I worked so hard, made day and night to see that moment. I had successfully cleared the Chartered Accountancy exam. Initially, I refrained from sharing the news on social media until I received congratulatory messages from the CA fraternity, ensuring the confirmation of my success.
The moment I posted my achievement on social media, my social media buzzed with calls and messages from friends, relatives, and well-wishers.
Banes: Two months later towards march end, during peak period where covid 19 outbreak when were skyrocketing, I contracted a severe case of the virus. Despite isolating myself at my PG accommodation and taking prescribed medications, I struggled to consume nutritious meals but had to intake high dose of medicines. My body could not sustain and oxygen level dropped till 84. Upon awakening in the evening, immediately contacted my boss and Damini (who is my wife now, she is doctor by profession). Within next 15 minutes they both arrived, My boss arranged for an ambulance through the CA Institute’s affiliated agency, while Damini reached out to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, none of the hospitals were willing to admit new patients.
Eventually, Damini took me to the National Cancer Hospital, an extended facility providing COVID care, where she had been working in the Cancer ward. Very surprising, the hospital initially refused admission, despite Damini’s two years of service there. Nevertheless, she managed to secure my admission and initiated my treatment with the assistance of her colleagues. An ingenious move on her part was to introduce me as her brother, ensuring that I received special attention and extra care from the hospital staff. I’ve seen the worst of my life, that beds around me were changing twice a day, One pity moment was when a fellow patient borrowed my phone to call his family, speaking to them normally, and he pass away next morning.
Furthermore, Damini’s parents were admitted to a different hospital for COVID treatment, and despite being infected herself, she was dealing with the situation from a separate location. Even now, it’s hard to comprehend how she managed that challenging situation as a delicate and slender girl. Even today also, we both used to cry whenever we remember, she shared with me the circumstances she faced during that period.
Rather harsh reality is that “I would not be in this position if she had not been a part of my life”
Despite the numerous challenges and struggles that came my way, I persevered and worked tirelessly to create a better life for myself. And now, looking back on that difficult time, I am grateful for the lessons it taught me and the strength it helped me find within myself with this version.
A famous line quoted by Elon musk says that, “when we are passionate and determined to achieve something, we find the courage to turn every adversity into an opportunity”. That summarizes the outcomes of my actions up to this point.
